First picture of biker who died in A82 horror crash as wife hails 'devoted father'

The first photo of a biker who died in a horror crash on the A82 has been released as his wife hails him as a "loving husband and devoted father." Michael Gall, 51, had been riding a Ducati motorbike when he collided with an MG car near Invermoriston on the West side of Loch Ness on Tuesday, July 19.

Emergency services attended at around 12.10pm, but tragically, Michael, of Inverness, was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for around seven hours to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out and re-opened at around 7pm.

His wife, Gaynor, said: “Michael was a wonderful, loving husband and a devoted father.”

There were no other injuries in the crash and Police Scotland are now looking for anyone with any more information to get in contact with them.

Sergeant David Miller, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this very difficult time. I would ask anyone who saw the vehicles immediately prior to the crash to come forward.

"I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage who was in the area around the time of the crash to check their footage and provide anything relevant to us as soon as possible.

"A number of vehicles had passed the crash site before emergency services arrived and I would urge them to get in touch with anything useful."

Those with information are being asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 1362 of Tuesday, July 19.
