First pic of man found dead in Milngavie park as cops probe death

The first picture of a man who was found dead near a Scots beauty spot has emerged - as police probe his mystery death.

The body of Duncan McKenzie was found in Allander Park, Milngavie, on Thursday morning, but police are unaware of how he died.

A probe was launched after the tragic discovery, which was made near the popular walking route the West Highland Way.

Police Scotland officers cordoned off while officers carried out further enquiries after the 49-year-old's remains were discovered at around 11.30am on June 4, 2020.

And today, a post on the Greater Glasgow Police Division Facebook page said the death is still being treated as unexplained, and that enquiries remain ongoing.

Detective Inspector Steven Watson, from Kirkintilloch CID, said: "Our thoughts are with Duncan's family and friends at this difficult time.

"We are appealing for anyone with information about his movements between Tuesday 2 and Thursday 4 June to please come forward and assist our investigation.

"Duncan is described as being around 5ft 9 with short dark hair, and he was wearing a light-blue puffer jacket and well-worn dark-blue jeans."

Anyone with information should call Police on 101, and quote incident 1160 of June 4.
