A photo has been released of Keith Allan after he died following an alleged disturbance at a West Lothian home on Monday.
Emergency services raced to Falside Crescent in Bathgate around 8pm on Monday evening.
Keith could not be saved and the 42-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene as murder cops launched an urgent enquiry.
Following a post mortem, his death is now being treated as murder and a 32-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.
He was expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A forensic tent was placed over a car in the garden covering the front door to the property following the incident as officers stood guard.
