First photo of Bruno Fernandes as a Manchester United player after signing contract

This is the moment all Manchester United fans have been waiting for: Bruno Fernandes wearing club colours having signed his contract.

A months-long transfer pursuit ended on Thursday, with just a day of the January window to go, as Fernandes landed in Manchester to undergo a medical and put pen to paper.

Negotiations with Sporting Lisbon had hit an impasse last week, with the two clubs a sizeable difference apart in valuations of the Portugal international.

However, further discussions at the beginning of the week finally saw a breakthrough and the deal agreed will see United pay an initial €55 million (£46.6million), with a further €10 million (£8.5m) dependent on Champions League qualification and appearances by the player.

Fernandes is also leaving Sporting on good terms, with the club asking United to "take care of our boy" on Twitter - and the midfielder also said his farewells to the club.

United confirmed the deal was in place on Wednesday, which only left the finishing touches. Here's the player with agent Miguel Ruben Pinho at Old Trafford.
