First of two towering bronze doorways installed as work on new museum at Perth City Hall continues

Those who have taken a stroll past the new museum being created at Perth City Hall recently may have noticed something different.

The first of two towering bronze doorways have been installed on the north side of the building on St John’s Place.

Manufactured by Black Isle Bronze Ltd, the frame consists of three parts: two pillars and a top section which weighs approximately 700kg.

It took more than three hours for teams to install the first doorway with the second door frame to be installed on the opposite of the building at a later date.

Construction work began on the new £26.5 million museum at Perth City Hall in 2021 and is expected to open in 2024, becoming the new home of the Stone of Destiny.
