'First of many!' - Arsenal fans love what England boss Gareth Southgate has done

Gareth Southgate's England team selection for this evening's international fixture against Wales has got a number of Arsenal fans talking.

The Three Lions go into the game hoping to repeat the 2-1 win when the two teams last met in the group stage at Euro 2016.

And it's the national team's first outing at Wembley since thrashing Montenegro 7-0 last November as the latest edition of the European Championships - scheduled for this summer - was pushed back to next year.

Four significant omissions from Arsenal's Europa League squad

It would appear that England are lining up with three central defenders once again.

Conor Coady, Joe Gomez, and Michael Keane make up the back three, with Kieran Trippier and Bukayo Saka operating at wing-back on either side.

That means a senior debut for the Gunners wonderkid.

In midfield, Kalvin Phillips is in the engine room alongside Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Winks.

The attacking trio is very exciting with the in-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin also getting his debut alongside Jack Grealish and Danny Ings.

England XI: Pope; Keane, Coady, Gomez; Trippier, Phillips, Winks, Saka; Calvert-Lewin, Ings, Grealish

Most of the reaction from Arsenal supporters on social media has centred around Saka being named in the starting XI.

What Southgate has said

"I’ve loved getting to know him this week, a really charming personality you can really see how excited he is by everything," Southgate said. "

"Also he is an exciting player, we know he can play for or different positions already.

"He’s done the for Arsenal: wide left, wide right, wing back, left back."
