- This decision follows Infantino's controversial and now-shelved plan to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors, which he announced on Friday night.
- UEFA, European football's governing body, also declared a loss of confidence in Infantino, stating that the current Fifa leadership has lost the trust of many in the football family.
- The English FA has called for a “full and robust review” into Fifa's leadership and governance, while Prime Minister Andy Burnham stated Infantino is the “wrong man” to lead the organisation.
