An offshore moorings and consultancy company has announced a seven-figure contract with a well decommissioning specialist.
First Marine Solutions will provide marine consultancy services to Well-Safe Solutions, including provision of equipment, marine services, survey and marine engineering.
The Aberdeen-headquartered company formed the partnership with Well-Safe to help with decommissioning the North Sea, as part of its 'plug and abandon' campaign.
The agreement took four years of negotiations before agreeing to terms, which should let the company evolve its services through significant investment.
Earlier this year, Well-Safe Solutions secured a contract to execute all well decommissioning activity within Repsol Sinopec UK’s Buchan and Hannay fields.
First Marine Solutions’ contract will commence with this 14-well project.

Lou Duncan, rig manager at Well-Safe Solutions, added: “As we prepare for the deployment of the Well-Safe Guardian, it’s vital to us that we utilise trusted partners to enable timely and safe fulfilment of our obligations.”
