First look: Snapchat’s patriotic dancing hot dog

Beginning Sunday in the U.S., Snapchat will offer a White House Fourth of July lens background, an administration official tells me.

What's happening: "To support the White House's "America’s Back Together' campaign, Snapchatters will be able to use an augmented reality lens that features the return of Snapchat’s beloved dancing hot-dog, in patriotic fashion," a forthcoming announcement says.

  • The lens includes an augmented reality fireworks display, with a swipe-up link to www.vaccines.gov

Speaking frankly: "The patriotic hot dog first reappeared in Snapchat’s filter reel on Vote Early Day and returned for Election Day on November 3rd, dressed in an Uncle Sam-style outfit twirling a sign calling on users to find their polling location."
