The former Topshop building on Cardiff's Queen Street is to reopen as a department store with a difference.
Set over three huge floors, in the building where the Welsh flagship Topshop stood for more than a decade, 15:17 department store will bring together local and national brands, selling beauty products, clothes, food and drink, flowers and plants, plus a whole lot more.
Topshop closed in the city centre after its parent company Arcadia fell into administration in November 2020.
15:17 will also have a cafe, Fresh, Local & Wild, which will cater for vegans and food intolerances. The Cardiff store is the first in Wales but 15:17 also have branches in Ayr and Worthing.
Kara Arigho, head of beauty, spoke to WalesOnline ahead of the shop's opening on Wednesday.
"We are very excited to be launching," she said.
"What we are trying to do, and I believe we will achieve, is to bring the fun back, re-energise the high street, give local brands an in and give them a route to market.
"We are looking forward to customers coming in and showcasing our hard work and our brands. We are looking forward to welcoming customers in to store because I think some people are quite nervous."
Kara added that the 15:17 concept was to search for local brands in a bid to showcase them and appeal to shoppers who want to steer away from mainstream high street brands.
Some of the brands that can be found in store include Pembrokeshire Salt, Take Two, Penarth and Barry Bee's Knee's Boutique, Crystal Rose UK and Australian make-up brand Inika Organic.
"I really wanted to have indie beauty brands, brands that are up and coming and haven't had the opportunity to be in bricks and mortar before," Kara said.
The opening of 15:17 is good news for Queen Street after the shopping street lost two huge brands in Topshop and more recently, Zara, as the Spanish fashion store moved inside St Davids with a new flagship store.
15:17 opens at 9am on June 9.
