First look inside St Enoch Centre and all the shops set to reopen on Monday

S. Enoch Centre is preparing to open next week with a number of new safety measures in place.

The shopping centre will be opening its doors on Monday, July 13.

Shops including Game, Hamleys and Body Shop will begin to welcome customers again, after being closed for over three months.

The Atrium Food Court is due to re-open on Wednesday in line with regulations for food operations.

To keep the centre as safe as possible, sanitation stations will be provided with particular focus on lifts and escalators. Social distancing floor markers will be visible to shoppers on the floor and there will be a limit on the number of people who can be in the centre at any one time.

All soft seating will be removed and only functional seating will be provided for elderly customers or those wit a disability.

A one-way system will be in place at the toilets and facilities will be scaled back.

The centre and car park will open normal hours, however stores may trade restricted hours to start with. Customers should check times with individual stores.

Face coverings will become mandatory in shops on Friday, July 10.

Anne Ledgerwood, general manager of St. Enoch Centre, said: “Our team has been working hard to prepare the centre for re-opening and our number one priority is the safety of our shoppers, retailers and staff.

“We are closely following the guidance from the Scottish Government and are implementing a range of measures to ensure public safety including enhanced cleaning with specialist products, social distancing measure and restrictions on the number of shoppers.

“Individual retailers will also be taking steps to keep shoppers safe and we would urge everyone to play their part and follow these guidelines.”
