First look inside new Mexican spot L.A. Mex opening in The Barras

A new Mexican spot is to throw open its doors in The Barras soon from the team behind the popular L..A. Mex pop-up at Dockyard Social and Park Lane Market.

L.A. Mex Barras, situated off London Road, will be serving up their signature L.A. style street food with a Mexican twist - with burgers, tacos, loaded fries, vegan plates, cocktails and more all on the menu

Glasgow Live were given a sneak peek inside over the weekend, and were blown away by the big booths, Frida Kahlo wall design, colour scheme and authentic 'cantina' feel of the place.

It won't only be about food at the new spot, with the team behind L.A. Mex Barras providing a space for individuals to "come and do their jam" - including graffiti artists such as Negative Destination, who has already hit up the spot to add a splash of colour to the outdoor seating and entrance area.

Inside L.A. Mex Barras (Glasgow Live)

Back in March this year, Glasgow Live had a chat with L.A. Mex founder Darren about the street food venture.

He said: "We take the concept of the dirty street food that's happening in Los Angeles and mix it with dishes and staple ingredients from Mexico.

"So, if we do burgers, they’re seasoned with Mexican ingredients, we do a bunch of tacos, fries, Mexican street corn. Anything really that takes my fancy really, anything that I can incorporate Mexican ingredients into, makes it all come together."
