A new block of student flats currently under construction in Glasgow city centre are causing a bit of a stir - thanks to the fact that photos of how they will look when finished reveal they will have a rooftop terrace and outdoor BBQ area.
Bridle Works Glasgow will be ready to welcome new students from September on Cathedral Street at the junction of North Hanover Street.
The 20-storey, 422-bedroom high-rise is located on the site of the former St Andrew's Free Church, which was home to Glasgow institution MacDonald Furniture Store for more than 80 years until it closed its doors back in 2015.
The building will be 'packed full of amazing features & facilities' according to operator Novel Student, including a cinema, a private dining area, gaming room, 'glam' room and on-site fully equipped gym and access to personal trainers.
It will also have boutique bedrooms, trash chutes in the communal corridors, video door entry via an app, on-site bike storage and even a tea lounge and karaoke room, with students able to grab a free weekday grab and go breakfast and 24/7 coffee.
But the main attraction will no doubt be the 20th floor social space and rooftop terrace, with private dining, gaming areas, lounges and an outdoor BBQ dining area being just some of the amenity spaces to benefit from 'panoramic views' of the city centre.
The cheapest room available within the flats is a Private en-suite bedroom (within an apartment shared with four other residents), and is available to students from £177 per week, or £708 a month - with all bills covered in the price.
