First look inside Liverpool's new Hawksmoor steakhouse

Hawksmoor is set to open in Liverpool city centre this month - and the ECHO has been given a look inside.

The steak restaurant, which has venues in New York and London, is opening in one of Liverpool’s most beautiful buildings soon. Hawksmoor is famous for its charcoal grilled, 35-day dry aged steaks and ranked number one in the 2022 World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants list.

The restaurant group was founded by childhood friends Will Beckett and Huw Gott in 2006 and now has venues across the UK. Its latest restaurant will open in Liverpool’s iconic Grade II-listed India Buildings, on the corner of Brunswick Street and Fenwick Street on Thursday, November 24.

The new restaurant will seat 150 people. The venue will also feature a private dining space and a bar which can be enjoyed by restaurant guests or those who fancy popping in for a beverage.

With a focus on sustainability, charity and local sourcing, Hawksmoor is the first UK restaurant to become a certified B Corp. Hawksmoor restaurants have also been given the highest rating for sustainability by the Sustainable Restaurants Association.

Hawksmoor will be working with Feeding Liverpool , a local food alliance which was set up in 2015 to tackle hunger and food insecurity by identifying the root causes of poverty. Hawksmoor has pledged a £10,000 initial contribution and will follow this with contributions from best selling menu items and ongoing fundraising. For more information, click here .
