First look inside huge new flagship Flannels store now open in Liverpool city centre

Flannels' huge new flagship Liverpool store has finally opened in Liverpool's thriving city centre.

Occupying the vast Owen Owen Building, which once housed a Tesco Metro store, the site has been completely transformed to offer Liverpool shoppers a taste of luxury. Opening to the public today, June 23, Flannels is to be the city's most exclusive and experiential department store, fusing retail and leisure under one roof, with a blend of top brands, dining options, and in-house experiences.

The new store will feature four venues open from early morning until late each evening. On the ground floor, stylish restaurant Bacino will offer modern Italian cuisine in a setting that fuses retro elements with the comforts and luxuries of modern life. An all day menu will incorporate brunch classics alongside pizzas, pasta, aperitivo cocktails, coffees and desserts, all concocted with seasonal, fresh ingredients.

Upon entering the store, visitors will also be greeted by a sprawling beauty floor which offers top brands like Chanel, Givenchy, Hermes, Gucci and more, alongside skincare specialists like Dermalogica, haircare experts Olaplex, social media titan Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin, plus slightly lesser known - yet no less effective - brands like First Aid Beauty and Pixi. There's plenty of open space to explore, with each beauty counter well stocked with all the latest products.

Every trace of its former host has been removed from the beautiful building, creating a true shopping and dining haven in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The ground floor sets the precedent for the rest of Flannels' new luxury department store, which is set over six floors.

In a city that's well known for its passion for fashion and impressive shopping scene, Flannels is sure to impress locals and tourists alike with its extensive array of ready-to-wear luxury fashion and streetwear. There's sections dedicated to high end fashion houses like Gucci and Burberry, as well as smaller concessions devoted to equally reputable brands including Prada, Christian Louboutin, Balenciaga, Jacquemus and more.

A Vivienne Westwood section offers accessories like on-trend bucket hats in stylish pastel gingham prints and more, as well as a selection of carefully curated clothing. There's even a selection of items from French luxury fashion house Chloé, ensuring any dedicated follower of fashion will be spoilt for choice when venturing to Flannels.

The space has been sympathetically and stylishly transformed, with smooth, grey concrete walls and pillars juxtaposed with retro tiled flooring and printed rugs creating comfort and a range of textures. It's clear every inch of the space has received special attention - even the escalators are given a futuristic element with neon strip lighting in vibrant shades of pinks and purples.

On the sixth floor, three additional venues will open this autumn, including a rooftop brasserie, bar and Pan-Asian restaurant. With its own entrance, the sixth floor venues will open outside of store hours while boasting breath-taking views of the city in a space suited to all manner of occasions.

Serving brunch, small plates and an eclectic mix of classic mains, alongside signature cocktails, coffee and wine; whether enjoying brunch, working from the lounge, meeting friends for dinner or sipping drinks with an enviable view, the brasserie aims to be an ideal day to night hangout.

The Pan-Asian restaurant will take inspiration from some of the globes' most famous venues, with an open kitchen set to take centre stage.

Those looking to indulge in a drink or two will be able to do so in the new rooftop bar, where skilled bartenders will serve a mix of expertly crafted modern and classic cocktails alongside a curated wine and beers list. There'll be DJs every weekend and special events planned throughout the year.

The venues will be created and operated by Zanna Hospitality Group, the brand behind some of the North West's most loved restaurants, including Evelyn's Café Bar, Les Deux Pizza Bar, Arlo's, The Daisy and more, as well as several of Flannels' newest dining venues in Sheffield and Leicester.

Sax Arshad, managing director of Zanna Group, said: "We've been looking to open in Liverpool for a while now, it's such a vibrant city with an exciting food and drink scene that we've always wanted to be part of. This unique space has given us the opportunity to bring not just one but four new concepts to the city.

"Each of our spaces will offer something slightly different - from a work space to a late night party venue, there'll be something for everyone and we cannot wait to open the doors later this year and welcome the city in."

Flannels is also host to a Barry's fitness studio, on its fifth floor. Barry's aims to be "the global destination to get the best workout of your life". There's a range of effective exercise classes available to sign up for.

Flannels is based at 15 Parker Street, Liverpool, L1 1DJ. It opens to the public today, June 23, at 10am.
