First look inside bar where you can refill your bottles with wine on tap

A bar is set to launch in Bedminster offering wine on tap and refillable bottles.

KASK is a wine bar and deli set to open at 5pm on October 16 in a North Street venue which has been a pub for more than 150 years and most recently home to long-time local favourite boozer Leveret.

The new business will swap out cask ale for 'real wine' on tap.

There will be a focus on organic wines, with a frequently changing selection of red, white, rosé and orange.

Its daily menu will feature six bottles of  “slightly unusual but very delicious”  wines from makers who intervene as little as possible in the production process.

KASK will offer 75 to 100 bottles for retail, which customers can choose to take home, drink inside the 42-cover bar or upstairs in the heated garden.

Customers are encouraged to refill their own KASK -supplied wine bottle and sample the full selection of by-the-tap wines. These will change every one or two weeks.

The menu will also promote a small range of locally-sourced beers and a rotating local gin and tonic, as well as cheese and charcuterie plates.

Behind the project are two husband-and-wife teams - Charlie and Natalie, who have backgrounds in hospitality, and Henry and Sophie, who own Birmingham's natural wine bar and shop, Grace + James.

'Something slightly different'

KASK said: "We are very excited to bring something slightly different to the community and work alongside the traders on North Street and beyond to continue to attract new people to the already-thriving area.

"Currently undergoing major refurbishment, the owners have worked with local designers and craftsmen from in and around Bristol to bring to life their vision for KASK - lots of curved edges, clay-esque finishes and natural-led textures.

"The striking taps on the wine wall are from Bristol Blue Glass and the bar itself has been handcrafted on-site."

Opening hours are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday: Closed.

Wednesday, Thursday: 5 - 10.30pm.

Friday, Saturday: 12 - 11.30pm.

Sunday: 12 - 9pm.
