First look inside Apple’s spectacular offices at Battersea Power Station

These are the first images of the offices at Apple’s new 500,000 sq ft London headquarters at the heart of Battersea Power Station since they opened earlier this year.

Up to 3,000 people work in the six storey space around a spectacular atrium in the boiler house at the Grade II* listed former electricity generator.

Apple today claimed it now supports a total of 550,000 jobs across the UK, including the 8,000 directly employed, as well as through its supply chains, and the “iOS app economy.”

CEO Tim Cook said “For more than four decades, Apple has been proud to be part of communities across the U.K..

“Whether it’s enriching the lives of our customers, helping support incredible developers, working closely with suppliers, or opening our stunning new U.K. headquarters, we are deeply committed to creating jobs and harnessing creativity throughout the country.”

Apple also has corporate offices in St. Albans, Swindon, and Cambridge, where its work on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and silicon is focussed.

Other investments in the UK. include Apple TV+ production.

Apple said that since it launched the App Store, developers in the U.K. have earned nearly £7.5 billion.

Apple opened its store at Battersea Power station in June, its eight in London and 40th in the UK. The Foster + Partners designed outlet supports around 70 jobs.

The tech giant first revealed it was moving staff into the power station in 2016. Apple’s main European headquarters is at Cork in Ireland.
