First look images of the new £160m McArthurGlen designer shopping village in Staffordshire

The first images released of Staffordshire's new designer shopping village show that major progress is being made on the £160 million development.

The McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands site - which has been likened to Cheshire Oaks or Bicester Village - is currently being constructed in Cannock.

When it opens next Autumn, it will boast around 80 designer stores and is expected to attract the likes of big-name brands such as Ralph Lauren, Boss and Superdry.

Now new images, captured by Staffordshire Bird's Eye View Photography, show that work on the facility is progressing at pace - with the main shell of the building now complete.

Work on the internal fit-outs of the units is expected to get underway early next year.

According to StokeonTrentLive, Mike Thomas, centre manager for the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands, said: "Work at the site is progressing well, with building facades coming on nicely and store fit-out works due to start next year.

"We're really looking forward to opening in autumn 2020 and our thanks go out to everyone locally who has supported this exciting new retail destination throughout its journey so far, paving the way for new jobs and what is set to be a major economic boost for Cannock."
