First look at the spectacular Witching Hour light and pyro show you don't want to miss this weekend

A brand new outdoor spectacular arrives in Wirral tonight, and it’s not to be missed.

The Witching Hour, a show featuring fire, pyrotechnics and live performance will take over Birkenhead Park this weekend with an immersive show.

Weaving tales to celebrate local memories and folklore, and exploring stories of local wise women, magical mythical characters and childhood memories, The Witching Hour is a must-see.

From dusk, visitors will be able to enjoy that spellbinding tales of alchemy and legend.

The show features live performance alongside a specially commissioned soundtrack, pyrotechnics and promenading action taking place in and around the audience.

The Witching Hour comes to Wirral as part of the peninsula’s celebrations of its year as Borough of Culture.

The show runs in Birkenhead Park from today, Friday, May 17, to Sunday, May 19.

Brand new Wirral Food and Drink Festival coming to Birkenhead Park this September  

Performances are completely free with no booking required, and will begin at 9:45pm, lasting approximately one hour.
