First look at the New Orleans Saints 2024 offensive coaching staff

The New Orleans Saints had a frustrating offense in 2023, which led to an almost complete overhaul of the staff for the 2024 season.

Starting with a new offensive coordinator in Klint Kubiak, the Saints filled out a new staff that only has a couple of returning names. With the list of potential coordinators that the Saints interviewed, it is clear that the team wanted to take a younger and more innovative approach this season. Most of the traces of the Sean Payton era are now gone from the offense as they now embrace the new era of offensive football.

Here are all of the coaches that will run the Saints offense in 2024, as the team tries to find success with the same core players:

Offensive coordinator: Klint Kubiak

Kubiak joins the Saints after spending one year as the passing game coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers. He was also previously the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings and is the son of Super Bowl winning coach Gary Kubiak. Klint Kubiak is one of the top up-and-coming coaching names in the league and should help rejuvenate the Saints stagnant offense. Read more here.

Quarterbacks: Andrew Janocko

Janocko will reunite with Kubiak in New Orleans, previously working together on the Vikings staff. His most recent job was the quarterbacks coach with the Chicago Bears, where he spent two seasons. The last two quarterbacks he has spent a lot of time with were Justin Fields and Kirk Cousins. Getting Carr to the Cousins level would be a big improvement over last season. Read more here.

Quarterbacks assistant: Jordan Traylor

Traylor has been in New Orleans for five years in a variety of roles. He’s worked in the scouting department as well as both an offensive and defensive assistant. This will be his first year working with quarterbacks, the position he played in college for Texas A&M. Read more here.

Running backs: Derrick Foster

Foster joins the Saints staff after spending three seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers in the same role. Foster could mesh well with Alvin Kamara, molding a similar play style with Austin Ekeler. Read more here.

Wide receivers: Keith Williams

Williams joins the Saints after spending a few years on the Baltimore Ravens coaching staff as an assistant receivers coach. He has also previously spent time as a personal receiving coach for players like Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill. Read more here.

McGhee is a young coach that will be in his first year with the Saints. It’s his second NFL job as he has been with the the Houston Texans as an offensive assistant since 2020. His hire was not previously reported before the Saints announced it.

Tight ends: Clancy Barone

One of the few coaches carrying over from last season, Barone will be in his second season as the Saints tight ends coach. He and Kubiak did overlap for one season with the Broncos back in 2016. Read more here.

Offensive line: John Benton

Benton returns to the NFL after a year away for his first season as a Saints coach. He did spend one season as a player in the NFL with the Saints back in 1987 as an undrafted free agent. His most recent job was as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for the New York Jets for two seasons in 2021 and 2022. Read more here.

Offensive line assistant: Jahri Evans

Does he need an introduction? The longtime Saints guard will be in his second year as an offensive line assistant in New Orleans after spending one year in 2022 as a coaching intern with the Saints. He has a shot at entering the Pro Football Hall of Fam next year after reaching the finalist stage.

Petry sticks around New Orleans, where he has been since 2017. He actually started with the Saints back in 2012 as a member of the equipment staff. He has served a number of roles in his time on the coaching staff working with both quarterbacks and wide receivers,
