First look at new BBC drama The Nest starring Martin Compston

Viewers can take a sneak peek at the new BBC drama starring Martin Compston and Sophie Rundle.

The Nest was filmed in Glasgow and is a five-part series which explores a surrogacy pact between a wealthy couple and teenage girl.

The first advert has just been released, and Glaswegians will be chuffed to see lots of local landmarks featuring, including the Clyde Arc bridge and the city's Botanic Gardens .

Centred on the teen's decision to carry the pair's baby for them, The Nest is billed by the BBC as an emotional thriller from Bafta-winning writer Nicole Taylor.

Line Of Duty star Martin will play Dan, with Peaky Blinders actress Rundle as his partner.

Martin said: "I'm absolutely delighted to join the cast of The Nest.

"Nicole Taylor is one of the most exciting and original voices in writing today, I'm chuffed we're finally working together.

"Combined with filming in Glasgow and going back on to BBC One in my native west coast accent makes it a dream scenario."

The series follows a couple who live just outside Glasgow, and decide to seek help to have a child.

Their plan embroils them in a drama focused on love and money.

Greenock-born Martin was spotted out and about filming across Glasgow last year.

No news as of yet when we can expect the series to hit screens, but the BBC say "very soon" so we'll keep you updated.
