First look at Joey Hauser at a Spartan practice

Let’s all give a huge welcome to Joey Hauser, the former Marquette player who so graciously transferred his services to Michigan State. The 4-star forward has now touched down in East Lansing and has been practicing with the team.

Michigan State recruited Joey heavily out of college, but he originally went to Marquette with his brother Sam. However, both brothers decided to transfer out of Marquette over the offseason. Sam ended up at Virginia while Joey decided to come under Izzo’s learning tree.

Due to the NCAA’s strict transfer rules, Joey will have to wait a season before being eligible to play for the Spartans. The 6’9″ Hauser has been impressive thus far in his career, making the All-Big East Freshmen Team last year after averaging 9 points and 5 rebounds per game. He also shot 42.5% from three on the year.

I think we can all agree that Joey looks great in that Spartan green!
