First look at Finnieston's Derby Lane - the bar built with Instagram in mind

As if it wasn't Insta-worthy enough already, Finnieston is about to have a new trendsetter in town.

Newly opened on the Finnieston strip is Derby Lane, a New York inspired bar and restaurant set to be one of the most popular places to dine in this summer.

Complete with whimsical cocktails and a seafood-focused menu, Derby Lane is focussing on sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint as well as making sure everyone has a good - and a beautiful - time.

On the all-day brunch menu are lobster rolls, haggis and monkey shoulder bonbons, a flat iron steak and eggs in a multitude of ways.

The dinner menu has starters of pork fillet and line caught mackerel, mains of braised beef cheek, roast monkfish and seared tofu, and a silken tofu and coco pudding dessert.

Cocktails include ingredients of Irn Bru reduction, deeply-spiced Bloody Mary and gold-leaf dusted 'Green-eyed Fairy' featuring an absinthe rinse and lemongrass, all the brain-child of barman Adam Parson.

"The idea behind it was that every cocktail was a signature cocktail. In other places only one such thing would be on the menu" said Adam.

"The Bloody Mary is a completely different one to anything else you'd get anywhere else. It's a recipe i've been working on for years, it's sweeter, more aromatic, used with spices that no one else would have thought to use.

"It has a south east asian influence, I lived out there for a few years. There's a good few tiki influences too.

"It's a menu of serious cocktails, but they're instagrammable, approachable."

Every corner of the place is Instagram worthy from the huge handmade wisteria tree to the 'Keep it on the DL' neon sign erected onto the exposed brick wall.

One of the best features (in our opinion) is the ladies parlour-style bathroom, which has a cubicle with two toilets in it - so that the women (who do love to go to the toilet together) don't have to have a break in their deep and meaningfuls.
