Liverpool is set to welcome a new restaurant this week when El Gato Negro opens inside the premises previously home to The Vincent Café & Bar
El Gato Negro is opening its doors this Friday, August 2 specialising in tapas while also offering an outdoor terrace and private dining area.
Known for providing seasonally inspired dishes reflecting a mix of modern and traditional Spanish flavours and techniques, with influences from closer to home, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand for the third year running.
The 240 seater restaurant has also been acknowledged in Hardens, and The Good Food Guide.
Simon Shaw, chef patron and creative director of El Gato Negro, said: "I’ve been blown away by the response we’ve enjoyed to El Gato Negro’s plans for Liverpool.
"I’m looking forward to opening the doors to El Gato Negro Exchange Flags on August 2 and to being a part of the incredible city."
Dishes on the menu will include morcilla scotch eggs with mushroom duxelle, apple purée and aioli; mini Catalan chorizo with Aspall cider and chargrilled octopus.
The Vincent Café & Bar, which was part owned by Steven Gerrard closed in April this year and has since undergone a major revamp to make way for the new owners.

El Gato Negro, Exchange Flags, Liverpool, is open for dining from 12pm to 10pm seven days a week.
