A first look at Cardiff's Winter Wonderland

Cardiff's Winter Wonderland opens to the public later today (November 16) and there's a lot to see and do at the Christmas attraction, which this year is split over two sites in the city.

Winter Wonderland is at Cardiff Castle and on City Lawns for 2021, you can read up on all the essentials, here.

The castle will be the home of skating, with an ice rink and ice walk, while City Hall will host the rides, entertainment and bars.

Not only is the layout new, but there are plenty of exciting new features including an Ice Bar and an extended roof terrace to the popular Sur La Piste bar.

The Cardiff Christmas attraction will open at 5pm to the public, today and will run until Monday, January 3.

You have to book tickets for the ice skating and ice bar, more on both those things, here.

Last year the ice skating was cut short thanks to coronavirus restrictions.

With the Winter Wonderland spread across two sites there is plenty of room for visitors to have a great time in the open air.

If ice skating or the ice bar aren't your thing there's always the cosy piste bar, see below.

As well as all the rides, bars, skating and other attractions, Winter Wonderland will also host a selection of local performers, singer-songwriters, and DJ entertainment.
