First look at Africa Oye as it celebrates 30th anniversary in Sefton Park

Africa Oye 2022 is underway at Liverpool’s Sefton Park today, with a huge line up of performers taking to the stage for the 30th birthday of the festival.

The festival was originally launched as a series of gigs in Liverpool back in 1992, but is now one of the city's most popular events that celebrates the music and culture of Africa. After a two year break due to the pandemic, the festival is finally back at Sefton Park this weekend where there will be live DJs, live music, dance, workshops, food stalls, traders and many more across the weekend.

Taking the stage this weekend is Grammy award-winning Oumou Sangaré, rapper Fuse ODG and reggae musician Eek-A-Mouse. Entry to the festival is free and it is suitable for all ages.
