First look as Hilton hotel opens new Scottish restaurant Tart and Lobster

One of Glasgow’s biggest hotels has opened a brand new restaurant.

Named after the restaurant's two specialties - Tart & Lobster aim to deliver mouth-watering seafood dishes and show-stopping desserts to Glasgow's food scene.

With the seafood spot officially opening tomorrow, Glasgow Live was given an exclusive first look inside.

Found inside Hilton Hotel on William Street, the restaurant will offer up a wide variety of dishes with lobster the star attraction on the menu, served newburg (with cognac and cream), thermidor (with white wine and mustard) or kiev (with garlic and herb butter).

Having a sneak peek at the menu, the other showpiece item of the menu looks to be the tart creations -  with lobster, warm confit duck and fig & brie options all on offer.

But it's not just the seasonal menu that wants to showoff the best Scotland has to offer - the interior gives a tasteful nod to Scottish heritage from the heather hues on the walls to the tartan chairs.

The true highlight, however, are the pink velvet clam shell chairs dotted around the dining area, which seats around 50 guests comfortably.

"We wanted it to feel cosy and welcoming," manager Yasmine Gibb tells Glasgow Live. "We don't want it just to feel like a hotel restaurant but a restaurant in its own right."

And it's not just hotel guests that are welcome through the doors - locals are also invited to dine in the elegant, intimate space.

Open Thursday to Sunday from 5pm, Tart & Lobster hopes to attract local and tourists alike with a new seafood restaurant specialising in seasonal Scottish cuisine.
