First Leeds United FIFA 22 ratings confirmed with big upgrades for key stars

By Nathan Bliss & Lewis Barton

The first Leeds United player rating for FIFA 22 have today been confirmed, with Leeds trio Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips and Luke Ayling all receiving huge upgrades from FIFA 21.

The Leeds squad in FIFA 21 was relatively low rated due to the Whites being just promoted to the Premier League from the Championship, but after Marcelo Bielsa's side claimed an impressive ninth-place finish, his squad was always bound for a big increase in FIFA 22.

Now with EA Sports rolling out the FIFA 22 player ratings over the last few days, a couple of Leeds player ratings have appeared, however, despite some large upgrades, some fans may still be slightly disappointed with certain ratings.

The ratings were released in a short video on the Leeds official Twitter page, where Bamford, Ayling and Phillips are all seen reacting to their FIFA 22 ratings for the first time - and it's safe to say that the players themselves weren't that impressed.

So, let's take a look at the player's ratings in FIFA 22.

Leeds United FIFA 22 player ratings

Patrick Bamford - ST - 78 rated

Kalvin Phillips - CDM - 81 rated

Luke Ayling - RB - 76 rated

All three players received upgrades on their FIFA 21 cards, with Bamford increasing by seven overall ratings, Phillips increasing by five, and Ayling increasing by one rating overall.

Despite totalling 17 goals and seven assists in the Premier League last season, Bamford has only increased to 78 overall, which is lower than a large majority of strikers in the Premier League.

The ratings were revealed in dramatic fashion during the 2 minute 18 second video (@LUFC (Twitter))

Nevertheless, the striker has still increased overall by seven ratings, one of the biggest increases you will see in the Premier League on FIFA 22.

Phillips increased from 76 to 81 overall, and the card wonderfully reflects his sublime season with both Leeds and the England national team.

So, how do the trio's FIFA 22 ratings compare to their ratings in FIFA 21?

Bamford's biggest increase was his shooting, going from 69 to 78. He also had a big increase in physicality, going from 71 to 77.

Phillips received a +5 on his passing and defending, taking those stats to 78 each. His dribbling increased by six overall to 75, and his physicality should remain around 83, however, this stat wasn't shown in the video.

Despite a pace downgrade, Ayling received steady upgrades all round, with his biggest upgrades coming in his dribbling and shooting.
