First Leeds O2 Academy show pulled because of the coronavirus pandemic

The first major show at Leeds O2 Academy has been postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Chart-topping indie band Blossoms have pulled their gig at the venue on Tuesday, March 24.

They took to Twitter this morning to announce the news. It disappointed fans but ultimately they understood the reason for the postponement.

In a statement, the band said: “Morning. Just to let everyone know, our March UK tour is now postponed.

“We’re currently working on rearranging all headline shows – London, Hull, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Birmingham & Manchester.

“We'll let you know as soon as we have any more info.”

We are now starting to see many big events being postponed across Leeds and that’s also been the case across Yorkshire too.

Coronavirus cases across Yorkshire yesterday rocketed with 19 now confirmed in Leeds, 12 in Sheffield and three in Kirklees.

A leaked document says that the virus is expected to last for a year and hospitalise millions of people in Britain.
