The first big event at Leeds First Direct Arena has been pulled because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Rock ‘n’ roll legends The Who have pulled postponed their UK tour which means their Leeds city centre gig on Wednesday, March 25 won’t be going ahead.
The band have cited fan safety as the reason the show being moved.
The Who will look to rearrange their UK dates when the situation has stabilised.
Singer Roger Daltrey said: “The shows definitely will happen and it may be the last time we do a tour of this type, so keep those tickets, as the shows will be fantastic.”
Fellow band member Pete Townshend said: ”We haven't reached this decision easily, but given the concerns about public gatherings, we couldn’t go ahead."
Later today, it is expected that the Government will make a decision regarding large scale events happening in the city.
It is anticipated the UK will switch to tactics aimed at delaying its spread, rather than containing it, when the government's emergency committee meets.
It comes after the World Health Organization labelled the outbreak of the disease as a pandemic.
