Alligator hunter Frank Robb has a Chicago girlfriend.
“I reckon you can call her that,” Robb told the Chicago Sun-Times Tuesday when a phone conversation veered from alligators to the fact that he was in town over the weekend...at a Cubs game...with someone.
Things are still fairly new, so he didn’t want to share too much.
But he did say she’s from Humboldt Park, not far from where he caught the alligator. And the two met during the brief window of time before he became a local celebrity.
While Robb was in town, the pair also received a behind-the-scenes tour of the Shedd Aquarium — where Robb got to gauge the woman’s reaction to reptiles — a species central to his life and career.
And...she showed affection towards snakes.
“This might be love,” Robb recalled thinking, with chuckle.
The two have been on several dates.
“There might be something there. There really might be. There’s something special, I think,” he said.
Robb is building up frequent flyer miles between his home in Florida and Chicago.
He was also in town recently to attend a charity golf outing hosted by actor Joel Murray at Canal Shores in Evanston that benefitted first responders.
Also in attendance: George Wendt and Kato Kaelin.
And Robb is returning in the coming weeks for two more fundraisers, including one for Chicago Animal Care and Control, which runs the city’s dog pound.
Another side note: Robb plans to adopt a dog from the city agency.
Another side note: he’s also considering shaving his beard.
