First Half Stats: Giants are 4-5 on third down, and Redskins have 9 penalties

It was more of the same for the Washington Redskins in the first half of their game against the New York Giants. They currently trail 17-3, though rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins has replaced Case Keenum, so that will be fun to watch as the game continues.

Let’s take a look at some of the stats that paint a picture of the first two quarters.

Total Yards: New York 233, Washington 86.

First Downs: New York 17, Washington 4.

3rd Down Efficiency: New York 4-5, Washington 2-7.

Penalties: New York 3-25, Washington 9-41.

Whether this trend will continue is anyone’s guess, but not even Haskins is likely to be able to cover up all of the mistakes that the Redskins have been making. With a single score, the Redskins could once again make this a tight game, but the defense will have to start playing better to do so.
