Stunning pictures taken on Tuesday show the first glimpse of spring in the city after a month of rain, snow and cold weather.
Liverpool saw its first truly sunny day of the year and ever though temperatures remained extremely low, the weather today showed things could be taking a turn.
Images of ducks breaking through the thin ice in Newsham Park as dog walkers enjoyed the fresh air show there is an end in sight after the bitter winter we have had.
With the sun setting slightly later, people got more of a chance to enjoy the bright day and thankfully the weather looks set to stay this way for a few days.
According to the Met Office, the rest of the week is expected to remain dry until the rain returns briefly on Sunday.
And while you will still need to wrap up warm, those daily walks are going to be much more enjoyable now.
Forecasters said: "Wednesday will see a frosty morning, then a largely dry day with sunny spells.
"Feeling cold, with lighter winds than Tuesday. Maximum temperature 2 °C.
"Largely dry Thursday, with sunny spells and occasional flurries of snow.
"Snow easing Friday, with plenty of sunshine. Windy with possible snow on Saturday.
"Feeling cold throughout, with overnight frosts."
The slight change in the weather will be welcomed with open arms after a month of rain and snow in January.
Last month even saw a number of storms that left areas of Merseyside flooded.
