First, Fallon Sherrock made darts history. Now she's on a roll at the World Championship

She was the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championship, and now Fallon Sherrock has proved she is no one-hit wonder with a second successive victory.

Sherrock, who beat Ted Evetts 3-2 in the first round in a landmark moment for darts, followed that up with a huge win over world number 11 Mensur Suljovic to advance to the third round.

The 25-year-old triumphed 3-1, nailing a dramatic bullseye at the last to send the crowd at London's Alexandra Palace into raptures again as they sang "There's only one Fallon Sherrock".

Introduced as "The Queen of the Palace", Sherrock overcame a slow start to take out the opening set, before the fancied Austrian levelled the match at one set apiece.

Suljovic had three throws at a double to lead after three sets, but missed all three throws, allowing the unerring Sherrock to nail a double 16 to take a 2-1 lead.

A tight third set ended with Sherrock again showing her ruthless streak, throwing a bullseye to clinch a win even more impressive than her historic maiden victory.

"I've just proved we can beat anyone," she said.

"I've beaten two of the best players in the world and if that doesn't say 'women can play darts', I don't know what does."

Having removed a high-flying seed and prospective winner of the tournament from the knockout tree, Sherrock's stock is now soaring in the world of darts.

After being congratulated by Suljovic, Sherrock put her hand to her mouth in astonishment amid the crowd's raucous celebrations.

"When it went in, it was a sigh of relief. I was saying to myself, 'don't let it go to a last set'. I can't believe it. My finishing was spot on," she said.

"I'm still waiting for it all to sink in. I don't even know how I'm going to sleep tonight."

She is a former runner-up at the women's world championship.
