First-Ever Kuwaiti Military Attaché Assigned to Sudan

A general view of Khartoum, Sudan. (Reuters)

Kuwait’s first ever military attaché in Sudan was assigned to his duties officially on Monday as part of strengthening military relations between the two countries.

Sudanese Defense Minister Spokesman Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa Al-Shami said that Sudanese Defense Minister Lieutenant General Awad bin Awaf received the Kuwaiti military attaché, Lieutenant General Nama Abdul Latif Hamad Al-Nema, in his first official meeting after assuming duties in Sudan.

Shami said that the meeting tackled cooperation between two countries in the fields of military training and exchange of experiences, enhancing boosting joint operations.

This is the first time that Kuwait has adopted a military attaché in its embassy in Sudan.

Sudanese officers contributed to the establishment of the Ali Al-Sabah Military Academy, where Kuwaiti officers train.
