First Dates viewers 'shed a tear' as 'precious' twist added to series

First Dates viewers tuned in to a new series on Monday night - and it was all a bit emotional.

The Channel 4 series, fronted by maître d’ Fred Sirieix, returned to screens in January with a new set of daters in Manchester.

But last night's show featured a 'precious' twist.

First Dates Teens is a brand new spin-off series, airing on E4 this week, featuring young adults aged between 16 and 19.

And for many of the single teens, it was their first time on the dating scene.

Fred tweeted about the show as it aired: "These kids are so lovely. Full of life. What a great antidote to the mad situation we are in! #FirstDatesTeens."

And viewers appeared to agree.

Archie and Eden were among the teen daters (CHANNEL 4)

One wrote: "Can't stop smiling at teen first dates, 100 times better than the normal one."

"Would be lying if i said teen first dates didn’t make me shed a tear," another said.

A third added: "Teen First Dates is absolutely PRECIOUS."

"I thought I would be cringing at this teen first dates but it’s actually the cutest thing in the world. Why wasn’t love this sweet when I was 17," a fourth commented.
