First Dates viewers make complaint about Manchester move

First Dates returned to screens last night with more singletons looking for love.

A series of changes have been made to the popular Channel 4 show including three new waiters and a brand new restaurant.

For the first time, the First Dates team have moved north and filmed the show at Manchester restaurant The Refinery.

With the big move to our city, fans were expecting more northern characters to appear on the show.

But they were slightly disappointed and had one major complaint about the big Manchester move.

"Why move to Manchester then ship them all up from London #FirstDates," one fumed.

Another said: "First Dates London. Almost every person on the show from the South. First Dates Manchester. 3 out of 6 people on so far from London and one other from the South Coast #firstdates."

"Why did they make such a big deal about #FirstDates being in Manchester only for half the people on it to be from London?" a third asked.

A fourth added: "Wait, so the new #FirstDates is based in Manchester but the first couple are from .... London...?"

However, another argued: "I'm enjoying two Londoners having to travel to Manchester for a telly show. About time. #FirstDates."

But that wasn't the only row about the north as one singleton suggested he went to uni in the North, only to say it was Nottingham and annoy the northern population.

One viewer said: "Nottingham isn't the North of England #firstdates."

"Errrr mate - Manchester is further north than Nottingham #firstdates," added another.

A third said: "Nottingham is deff not North!!! #FirstDates."
