First Dates viewers in disbelief over couple who look like 'long lost twins'

First Dates viewers were left feeling "unsettled" after Wednesday evening’s episode as they claimed one of the couples looked so similar they could be related.

Fans of the much-loved Channel 4 dating show couldn’t quite believe their eyes when the match-makers set up a couple who "looked like twins".

Sixth Form teacher Joe and eccentric bird writer Jess appeared to be a match made in heaven, from their unusual hobbies, to their uncanny resemblance to one another.

Sporting dark untamed tresses, glasses and unique fashion taste, the pair went down a treat with eagle-eyed audiences who claimed that Joe and Jess looked like "long lost siblings".

Twitter soon became awash with brother and sister gags as fans expressed their disbelief over their undeniable similarities.

One gobsmacked viewer penned: "It's literally as though they were separated at birth, or that they are twins. This is making me feel a bit weird actually, lol."

"They are literally the same person… are we sure they aren't long lost siblings #firstdates" another echoed.

"Joes been matched with his twin sister loll!! #FirstDates" a third fan quipped.

"I feel unsettled. They look like they’ve come out of the same womb!" someone else remarked.

Meanwhile another shared: "Ugh, imagine dating your sister. Poor Joe!"

Although they shared the same physical attributes, sadly, Jess and Joe didn’t share the same outlook on love.

The date was going swimmingly until Joe admitted that he wasn’t a fan of video games.

Unfortunately, this turned out to be a dealbreaker for bird writer Jess.

After their memorable date where they wined and dined, the pair went back to the greenroom together where the producers asked the all-important question ‘Would you see each other again?’.

Sadly, for Joe, who was hoping for another date, Jess admitted that she would like him more as a friend rather than a love interest.

Here’s hoping Joe will find his long-term lady soon!
