An unlucky in love drag artist is set to go on his first ever date with a guy on First Dates Ireland tonight.
Fashion enthusiast Sean Kenneally, 19 said despite his nerves, he decided to take the plunge and sign up to the hit dating show in the hopes of finding a special someone after being stood up on every other date in the past.
The Co Cork native told Irish Daily Mirror: “I was really nervous because it was actually my first date ever with a guy.
“I’ve had a couple of things with guys before but they all treated me really badly and not to throw anyone under the bus but I have been stood up on dates loads of times.
“So it was a really good feeling going into this knowing they can’t run away.
“And it is a fun way to have a first date and my first date will be recorded forever.”
He added: “I thought it would be a good idea because the gay scene in Cork is very small and very limited and it kind of feels like you already know everyone.
“So I thought it would be a good opportunity to meet someone else and someone I might have something in common with.”
However, in tonight’s episode, he is set up on a date with 21-year-old make-up artist Jake, also from Cork.
Sean, who is better known in the drag scene as ‘Krystal Queer’ also told how he has learned to love himself through his confidence on stage.
He said: “I put it all down to drag because you have to interact with so many people and it is just a lot of hard work to transform yourself and make yourself look the best you can.
“And then you have to go out on stage and that takes a lot of confidence but I got such a good response it made me really confident and made me really love the weird and wacky parts about myself."
