A First Dates contestant from East Yorkshire stunned viewers after he bizarrely confessed he didn't realise chicken was a bird.
Tom, an 18-year-old engineer from Driffield, appeared on Channel 4's First Dates where he also mentioned he hadn't heard of Camembert.
The teenager had his first blind date in front of the nation where he was joined by Abbie, 19, a law student from Beverley.
The pair confessed to each other that neither of them had been on a blind date before and both appeared nervous - with Tom revealing his sensitive side and pulling on heartstrings of viewers.
He confessed some of the items on the menu were too "posh" for him, saying: "This is a well posh restaurant. I don't know what any of this means."
A waiter then asked the engineer: "How's the menu looking?" Before he replied: "Confusing. I'm not used to posh stuff."

Tom awkwardly admitted he didn't realise a chicken was a bird, or what sweet potato mash was - revealing the nearest he had been to a date before was taking a girl to Taco Bell.
The teenager then touched on his soft side, telling Abbie about his mum, 55, who was diagnosed with Alzheimers and how he juggles his training with caring for her.

During their heartwarming conversation, Tom said: "Not many 18-year-old lads look after their mum.
"Whoever she becomes, even if she forgets me, I'm going to love her because in there somewhere is my mum that brought me up and made me the person I am.
"It's just made us as a family a lot closer.

"I'd love for whoever I'm with in the future to meet my mum so I'll know deep-down, if my mum doesn't make it to my wedding, she knows that girl and she knows she's the right one for me.
"I reckon she'd love you to bits."

Although the date ended up going well, Abbie unfortunately ended it by telling him she would try to give him advice on future dates but she was not the one for him.
They went their separate ways, but at the end of the show it was revealed the pair met up again as friends at a gig in Hull.
