A Citylines East bus, which is operated by First Bus, was pictured at the scene this morning and was attended by a recovery vehicle.

The road was closed at both ends until just after 9am, when police confirmed it had been re-opened.

Initially described as a "serious" collision by police in a bulletin issued just before 6am, it has now been confirmed by First Bus that a pedestrian was injured in a collision with the bus.

The collision involved the number 43 service that was travelling from the city centre to Kingswood in the early hours of this morning.

The statement from the operator said it was complying fully with a police investigation into the incident and that it has sent its thoughts to the person injured.
