First Bus cuts ticket prices in Bristol to as law as £1 ahead of Christmas

Bus passengers in Bristol and Bath can get a huge discount on evening tickets over Christmas.

From Monday (November 22), people can travel for just £1 on any First Bus or Metrobus service in the Bristol or Bath zones.

The cut-price offer also applies to Brislington and Portway park and ride services, journeys to the airport, and trips to and from park and rides in Bath.

The £1 ticket is available all week from 7pm until 4.29am up to and including New Year's Eve. It also works for students, young people and children.

Doug Claringbold, managing director of First West of England, said: “This year has been another challenging one for most of us, so we want to support our local evening economy and make it as easy as possible for people to get out and about as cheaply as possible up to and over the festive period.

“The £1 single evening ticket will be ideal for anyone wanting to enjoy the Christmas markets or some Christmas shopping, works nights out and Christmas parties, or just drinks with friends, a date night or catching up with the family.”

The special ticket is available on the First Bus app, and is found in the Bath Zone and Bristol Zone under a “Promotions” category.

Alternatively, you can buy it from the driver - although not on Metrobus - and passengers need to ask for the £1 evening ticket as it is not available on Tap and Cap in the Bristol Zone.
