Being sick is never fun, but it can be particularly upsetting for young children to go through, especially if it's their first experience with a sickness bug.
And while you might be able to rush them to the bathroom during the day, at night it's more common to leave them with a bucket by the side of their bed that they can use if they wake up in the middle of the night.
However, the bucket is only useful if your child can see it and reach for it in time - otherwise, they'll be making their way into your room to let you know that you need to strip their bed.
Thankfully though, there's a quick and easy hack that will make sure your child can always make it to the bucket in time.

In a video shared on Instagram by @tinyheartseducation, a first aider claims that all you need to do is add a few glow sticks to your child's bucket - as this will make it easy for them to see it in the middle of the night.
The expert said: "Here's a top tip for you all if your little one has gastro. Make sure you get some glow sticks and add them to the bucket so when they wake up overnight and need to find it quickly, they can."
The video was specifically targeted at parents of children suffering from the common vomiting condition known as gastroenteritis, or just gastro, but it can be used for any instance when your child might be sick at night.
And in the caption, the first aider also shared other tips to help your child combat their sickness, such as telling parents to give their kids "small but frequent sips of fluid" and making sure that when they feel up to eating, they only have "bland foods".
The expert also said: "Clean, wash and disinfect like your life depends on it (your sanity does)!"
Commenters on the post were quick to praise the first aider for their life hack, as many of them also suggested putting the glow sticks in a clear plastic bag to make them easier to remove and clean.
One person said: "I've also seen the glow sticks, then put a plastic bag over the top so you can remove the plastic bag and not have to worry about washing the glow sticks every time."
While another added: "I used this hack last time the kids were sick, but I made the glow stick into a ring and connected it to the handle so I didn't have to fish them out when tipping and rinsing."
And a third wrote: "Little one … Nah, I'm doing this for the husband. Such a good tip!"
