First aid trucks enter Gaza as allies warn Israel of sanctions

Five lorries, including shipments of baby food, entered the enclave on Monday, the first such delivery in nearly three months. The move comes as Israel says it aims to avoid a “starvation crisis” that could complicate its military campaign.

Global experts have warned of famine affecting Gaza’s two million residents, while Israel’s allies have begun to threaten sanctions, urging broader and sustained access for humanitarian aid.

Israel had halted all supplies to pressure Hamas during ceasefire negotiations.

The war, ongoing since October 2023, has claimed over 53,000 Palestinian lives, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
