Firing up for the New Year

Craftspeople in Chofu, Tokyo, add finishing touches on Tuesday to ceramic bells shaped like boars, the Chinese zodiac sign for 2019. The Musashino Jindaiji Gama kiln, located by the approach to Jindaiji temple, will prepare about 8,000 boar bells, 5 centimeters tall and fired on logs, by the end of this year.
