Firing inside Kolkata airport washroom, CISF sub inspector found dead

KOLKATA: A middle aged CISF sub inspector presumably killed himself with his service gun inside a Kolkata airport washroom on Friday evening.

The incident happened at the basement washroom, away from the passenger movement area that ensured none of the fliers were harmed or left panicked by the incident.

Pankaj Kumar who was at basement staff gate shift duty on Friday was found in a pool of blood inside the male staff toilet at the basement around 7.45pm by fellow CISF personnel who rushed to the toilet hearing a gun shot. He had a bullet injury on his forehead and his service pistol was lying beside his lifeless body.

Officers of NSCBI airport police station sent his body for post mortem examination and have started an unnatural death case to find the reason behind his death. Till late on Friday, police officers were questioning his colleagues and other airport staff to find out the possible reason behind the act.
