Fireworks store catches fire and sets off 'display' ahead of July 4 celebrations

A South Carolina firework store has caught fire and set off an unexpected display ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

The fire ignited the inventory in the shop causing it to shoot into the sky with showers of different colours.

Footage shared on Twitter shows the mini display above the Davey Jones Fireworks store in Fort Mill, just off Interstate 77.

The exploding rockets gave the nearby residents an impressive show early this morning.

Spark can be seen circulating the store as the smoke billows out from the store.

Firefighters were called to the scene immediately and found out the fire actually started in containers outside the shop, ABC News reports.

The fire did not get into the store, but it ignited all of the fireworks in the containers.

They took 45 minutes to put the fire out and no injuries were reported in the incident.

However, officials are still investigating the cause of fire.
