Fireworks sales updates from Lidl, Tesco, Aldi, Asda and Sainbsury's stores

Supermarket chains have been providing updates on buying fireworks for Bonfire Night this year.

But Sainsbury's has said it won't be selling fireworks for a third year in a row.

The retailer said: "We regularly review our ranges and this is based on a range of factors.

“Customers can continue to choose from a range of seasonal products."

In 2019, Sainsbury’s became the first major supermarket to announce it would stop selling fireworks in all of its 2,300 UK stores.

Pet owners welcomed the news as Bonfire Night can be stressful for many animals due to the loud bangs frightening them.

Although Sainsbury’s won’t be selling fireworks this year, people will still be able to purchase them from other retailers.

Aldi supermarket says it will continue to sell fireworks with reminders on the importance of animal welfare.

Lidl are the same with a box of fireworks on sale in selected stores for £39.99 which provides 90 fireworks.

Tesco will also continue to sell them and Asda have launched a collection of low noise fireworks.

An Asda spokesperson said: "We know that many of our customers love fireworks, but we also know that some customers and their pets don’t like the noise, which is why this year we have launched a collection of low noise fireworks so that everyone can still enjoy the show."
