A newborn baby had a very lucky escape over the weekend as a gang of thugs continue to terrorise Dublin residents with fireworks.
The group of youngsters have been setting off the explosive devices on a regular-basis for the last two weeks, continuously posting them in the letterbox of residents in the Palmerstown area as well as lighting the fireworks in surrounding parks.
One house in the Wheatfield area had a banger posted through its letterbox while a couple wheeling around their newborn baby had a banger thrown at them earlier that evening.
These attacks are the second and third similar incidents in the area in the space of just four days.
The parents were going for a quiet stroll in the Glenaulin area when the banger landed just several feet in front of them and went off.
A text alert was sent around to residents in the area warning them to be wary and on the lookout for the group.
It said: "Please keep an eye out for these young groups trying to terrorise people.
"Call Gardai immediately 016667200 or if you see them doing it 999."
On Thursday night, more heartless thugs posted a firework through a pensioner's door in the area just after 9pm.
The resident described the ordeal as a "very frightening experience" but was thankfully uninjured.
It's understood that the device was not lit when it was slotted into the house by the cruel pranksters.
A message alert was sent around to residents of the area last night warning them of the sick joke.

It said: "Did you see anyone around the area at 9.30pm?"
"An older resident had a firework put through the letterbox tonight.
"This type of behaviour can't be tolerated. We need to look out for our neighbours.
"Do you have CCTV or dashcam you could check?"
Dublin Live understands that Gardai are investigating the shocking incidents.
