Firework displays happening across Northern Ireland this Halloween weekend

Grab your broomstick and witches hat and prepare for a spooky weekend of celebrating the scariest of holidays across Northern Ireland.

Halloween is well and truly upon us and whether you are fond of a scare or prefer a dander through the pumpkin patch, we can all agree that fireworks are a simple joy for everyone to appreciate.

If you are looking to take your little ghosts and ghouls to a Halloween firework display, there are a number taking place across NI right up until Monday.

Here is a list of some of the big fireworks displays taking place across the country:

Friday, October 28

Limavady Halloween Happenings

Taking place at Roemill Playing Fields on Friday.

Join for some Halloween crafts, DJ music, magic, fire poi, glow poi and balloon modelling but don't let the spooky characters put you off.

Quiet Time for individuals with additional needs will be from 5.30pm - 6.30pm with the main event commencing at 6.30pm.

The spectacular fireworks finale is at 8.30pm.

Hallowena

(Mid and East Antrim)

People’s Park, Ballymena will host one of the scariest nights of the year on Friday, October 28 from 6pm – 8.30pm.

The free event will thrill and chill with a packed programme of spooktacular activities for your little monsters to enjoy with a fire juggling display, a fancy dress competition, spooky walkabout characters, a kiddies funfair and live music.

The fun and festivities will finish with a fangtastic fireworks finale at 8.15pm.

Féile’s annual Lantern Parade and Fireworks Display

The Lantern Parade will assemble this Friday 28th October at 6pm, departing at 7pm from Spórtlann na hEireann, Falls Road to parade to the Féile Falls Park Event Space.

The fireworks display will take place only once everyone from the parade has safely arrived at the viewing area at the Falls Park Event Space.

Market Square and Hill of the O'Neill

Friday 28 October, 6pm - 8pm with fireworks at 7.50pm.

Activities include:
6pm - 7.45pm at Market Square: Face painting, Balloon modelling, Character walkabouts, Fire/LED performers, Halloween themed workshops (arts & crafts activities), On stage entertainment with DJ, Competitions and giveaways, and Halloween themed photo opportunity props.

Fireworks fired at 7.50pm from Hill of The O'Neill. This year's fireworks will be low debris and low noise making them more environmentally friendly than ever before while still providing the same high-quality display.

Saturday, October 29

Coleraine Halloween Happenings

The Council’s Coleraine Halloween programme will take at Rugby Avenue Playing Fields.

There will be a Quiet Time for Children with Additional Needs from 5.30pm – 6.30pm featuring amusements, Halloween crafts, a magician and balloon modeller.

The main event will commence at 6.30pm featuring Beatz Entertainment, The Dandylyons live music, amusements, balloon modeller, scary characters, Rodd Hogg magic act and fire poi.

The fireworks display will be at 8.30pm - viewable from Rugby Avenue.

Spooked Out, Newtownabbey

Saturday, October 29 promises to give you a fright as Spooked Out at V36 returns for another year.

Grab your best fancy dress and join from 6pm-8pm for all of the tricks and treats we have in store.

The night will come to close with our fangtastic fireworks finale at 8pm. Please note this is a ticketed event.

Monday, October 31

Halloween at Let's Go Hyrdo

Join from 6pm on Halloween night for food, drinks and fun, before getting yourself in position for a massive and professional fireworks display just minutes from Belfast city centre.

What to expect:

  • The fireworks show starts at 7.30pm sharp
  • Floating bonfire
  • Watch Hocus Pocus from 5.30pm and Halloween from 8.30pm in the cinema marquee
  • Food trucks, entertainment & more
  • Best costumes win £1000 in Let's Go Hydro prizes and will be announced before the fireworks display

Parade and Fireworks

After a long three years, the famous Carnival Parade will return to Derry Halloween.

Organised by the North West Carnival Initiative, the Carnival Parade will bring the festival to a thrilling close on Monday night as some of the City’s finest performers bring the story of the 9th Wave to life, reawakening the river Gods for a fearsome display of magic and mayhem led by some of our most spooky spirits of the deep.

The celebrations will culminate in the Festival Finale fireworks with all eyes on the River Foyle for a deathly display of pyrotechnics.

Ballycastle Halloween Happenings

The Council’s Halloween event will take place in Ballycastle on Monday 31st October and is located in the Seafront area following the parade through the town.

There will be a Quiet Time for Children with Additional Needs from 5.30pm – 6.30pm featuring amusements, Halloween crafts, Rodd Hogg magic act and balloon modeller.

The Halloween parade will gather up from 6pm with judging at 6.15pm prior to departing at 6.30pm from the Dalriada Hospital Lower Carpark on Leyland Road walking along Castle Street, The Diamond, Ann Street, Quay Road and North Street to the Seafront.

There will be fireworks at 8.30pm viewable from the Seafront

Maghera Leisure Centre and St Patrick's College Playing Fields

Halloween Hooley at Maghera Leisure Centre 4pm - 7pm with fireworks at St Patrick's College Playing Fields at 7.30pm (gates open at 7pm).

Activities include:
4pm - 7pm at Maghera Leisure Centre:

  • Party Playhouse
  • Quad Pods Rides
  • Bungee Trampolines
  • Fire Performers
  • Amusement Rides,
  • Jump Jiggle and Jive Dance sessions
  • Face painting
  • Balloon Modelling

From 7pm at St Patrick's College Playing Fields:

  • Fire Performers from 7.00pm to 7.25pm
  • Fireworks Display at 7.30pm
